I have just returned from traveling to New Zealand with my beautiful family to explore the magnificent islands and catch up with good friends along the way. I am so impressed with New Zealand as a country, the natural beauty of the islands is breathtaking and left us awe-struck. The people are warm and interesting and have a special affinity with the land, sea and creatures that roam them, which was very apparent to us everywhere we went. We started with a road trip on the South island starting from Christchurch to Queenstown via Franz Josef Glacier, all of which exceeded our expectations. We fell in love with the Vudu Cafe in Queens town the most inspiring menu for a cafe I have seen for a long time and lots of inspiring things to read including Peppermint magazine an uber cool green fashion and lifestyle mag from Australia, well worth a look and available to read in the salon soon.
Queenstown is on lake Wakatipu a truly extraordinary Glacier lake 11.5 degrees C, 290 sqkms of clear water 1,239 ft deep at its deepest point – really quite something, surrounded by extreme sports in this place of extreme beauty (that also happens to be the home of bungy jumping, not for me this time).
On our travels around the islands we saw endless magical scenes it is so hard to take a bad photograph here as everywhere you look is stunning beyond belief. We swam in warm oceans and fished for big game (marlin), we saw Dusky and Hector dolphins, Mako sharks and Sun fish in their natural habitat in the Ocean, road horses through valleys, rivers, creeks and over mountains. We even saw where hobbits live and lots of film locations along the way. North and South the nature is overwhelming and truly adored and respected by the locals. We fell in love with the islands, they and their people are very special, I highly recommend visiting this beautiful country, I know I will be inspired in my work and life for years to come after this trip.
