This year, it’s all about going bold with your lips (and colour coordinating nails is back!) and the favourite by far is RED! Red lips and nails are usually only seen during winter months, whilst summer trends tend to stay more natural, but now this hue of all shades, from orange tones to deep berries, is getting it’s chance in the sunlight and boy does it look good. Look to the likes of Mother of Dragons, Emilia Clarke for hot to trot inspiration – team it with barely-there face makeup and a sweep of mascara.
There has been a new colour working it’s way up the summer trend chain for some time now and it has finally hit the big time! Everyone is talking about going ‘Bronde’.
Bronde is an absolutely stunning option for those with naturally darker hair who want a little summer lift. Championed by red carpet beauties such as Karlie Kloss and Gisele, you can’t really go wrong. Is it blonde? Is it brunette? All I know is that it’s gorgeous!
Top Tip: Do NOT, I repeat, do not go it alone. Home hair dying will rarely go according to plan and although this trend may look easy, the ones that appear natural are always the hardest to get right. Pop in to see us at Tabitha James Kraan for a consultation for best results!
Statement eyeliner is the way forward for the eye makeup trend of 2015 and what’s so great about this is that you have the freedom to play around and make it your own. Cat-eye liner is a strong choice among beauty trend fanatics as it’s a look that can easily be worn from the office to a night out. Keep it clean during the day for understated glamour and smoke it up a little in the evening for added drama. For eye-shadow, brown tones are this season’s trend, keeping it natural with just a touch of depth in light taupes, mochas and beige – perfect for all eye colours, particularly blue and green!
The ‘No Makeup Makeup’ trend is still a firm favourite in the beauty world, keeping faces fresh and youthful and subtly bringing out your best features with clever contouring. Keep it light, with minimal foundation (or better yet, tinted moisturizer), a concealer such as our favourite, ‘Un’ Cover Up Concealer by RMS Beauty, applied carefully to blemishes and a pop of pink on the apples of your cheeks. Emphasize your natural bone structure with thoughtfully placed bronzer, but be careful not to over-do it! The idea behind this trend is to look naturally beautiful, which is easier said that done. Make sure you’re in a very well lit room before applying to save yourself from any makeup mishaps!
