Ready to treat your hair to some pampering? For best results, we always recommend using natural products (like our organic hair care range!).

Using products that are made up of synthetic ingredients may work on the surface, in the short term, but for really healthy, gorgeous hair that is strong and shiny from the inside out, organic is the way forward.

Our hair products are made with only the very best organic ingredients, including a few natural oils which work absolute wonders for moisture layering and oil balancing – two of the Tabitha James Kraan key principles for achieving beautiful hair.

Here are 3 of our favourite natural oils & why we love them

natural oils

Argan Oil

Ever wondered how you can get red carpet worthy locks? Argan oil is one natural oil that has fast become a bit of a celebrity favourite in recent years and with good reason, but that’s not to say that it hasn’t been around for a long, long time.

Argan oil has been known about for it’s healing and beauty properties since 600BC and it has been used for centuries not only to promote glorious hair and skin condition, but also as a dietary supplement and as an ointment to heal wounds.

What makes this oil so beneficial?

This precious oil is jam packed with anti-oxidants, omega-6 fatty acids and linoleic acid, as well as being naturally rich in vitamins A, C and E. When applied to the hair or skin, Argan oil boosts cell production, moisturises even the driest of skin/hair, reduces inflammation and soothes conditions such as eczema and dandruff.

We love this oil so much that we have included it in our hair cleansers, conditioners and scented hair oil! A little goes a long way – just a drop or two will leave you with soft, manageable hair, a soothed scalp and tamed frizz/split ends.

Argan oil is one of our favourite natural oils because despite it’s light feel, making it easy to apply and wear in your hair, it is actually an incredibly intensive conditioning treatment in it’s own right, even before we add our other ingredients.

Coconut Oil

Daily practices, such as styling, washing, brushing and even just going out in harsh weather takes it’s toll on your hair. Using natural oils on a regular basis is one of the best ways to keep your hair in tip top condition and coconut oil is one that your beauty routine should never be without.

What makes this oil so beneficial?

Coconut oil is very high in protein, unlike synthetic or mineral oils, and is very easily absorbed into the hair shaft. Because of this, it actually helps to feed and rebuild your hair strands in a way that no other oil can! Protein is an essential component for maintaining strong, healthy hair and it also helps to reduce hair loss whilst encouraging regrowth, meaning longer, sleeker, shiner tresses.

Keeping your hair well stocked up on protein and deeply moisturised also helps to reduce breakages and protects from environmental damage, such as sun, sea, wind and pollution.

You’ll find coconut oil in all of our organic cleansers and conditioners.

Rosehip Oil

Rosehip oil is one of those natural oils that no household should be without – it’s just amazing in so many ways!

This oil is so high in vitamin C that’s it’s healing properties are second to none. Use it topically to treat scars, burns, stretch marks, acne and wrinkles or include it in your hair care regime (like we do!) for intense shine and a nourished scalp.

What makes this oil so beneficial?

Rosehip oil is plentiful in nutrients, including:
– Vitamin A or Retinol
– Omega 6 or Linoleic Acid
– Omega 9 or Oleic Acid
– Lycopene – A highly-effective antioxidant
– Beta-Carotene – A good source of pro-Vitamin A, another form of antioxidant
– Natural Vitamin C

We love natural oils that offer extreme results without feeling heavy and rosehip oil ticks those boxes. Rosehip oil is what is considered a ‘dry oil’, as it can be applied directly to your skin, hair and scalp without leaving a greasy residue.

By simply massaging into your hair and scalp and leaving to do it’s thing, rosehip oil will add instant shine and revitalisation.

We’ve used it in our cleansers and conditioners and also our hair perfume. As rosehip oil contains 60 times more vitamin C than most citrus fruits, spritzing some of this over your styled mane provides daily rehydration and protection whenever you need it.
